Lodging in Vila Nova de Cerveira
The Artist’s House "Painter Jaime Isidoro"
The "Casa do Artista" was built thanks to Vila Nova de Cerveira’s Town Hall and the financial support of the Lider II Program. The aim is to provide a closer approximation between the people of the Alto Minho Region, and the artistic creators in all areas, such as: painting, sculpture, craving, music, dance, electronic art, photograph, and any other artistic creative form. We also pretend to foster debates, colloquies, seminaries and committees about the local, regional and national developments; to encourage the installation of artists and intellectuals in the region; to activate the cultural relationships with countries of the European Community and others.
The "Casa do Artista" is ruled by that regulation and may be utilized by:
1 – People invited by Projecto – Núcleo de Desenvolvimento Cultural and who fulfil the up – cited aims.
2 – Artists who present and carry out a relevant project for Contemporary Art and that contributes to the artistic patrimony of the Art Biennial Exhibition of Vila Nova de Cerveira.
3 – Artists detaining a burse from national or foreign institutions, belonging to the project "Cerveira – Vila das Artes" (Cerveira – City of Arts)
4 – Artists that apply for a housing and who carry out a personal project; or artists whose project may not seem relevant for Contemporary Art or to the Art Biennial Exhibition of Vila Nova de Cerveira, but which is recognized as a personal valorisation of the artist him(her)self. In that specific case, the artist will be asked to pay an amount (set up annually) to help in the management.
